The cord is also so small as to be ridiculous.DO NOT BUY THIS WORTHLESS CABLE. BAFO's website support is useless. Nothing on this thing works. The driver disc is useless.
There is a reason the price is so low. beware, the cable on this is only 3 feet. your printer must be right next to your PC/laptop and on the appropriate side in order to connect to your preferred USB port.
Too bad,. So the cable will go into my box full of things I no longer need. Cable is well made, but unfortunately, it did not solve my problem of making my HP4 laser printer work with my new computer that uses Vista. Suspect it is a lack of Vista compatible drivers from HP that is the source my my problem.
After 1 hour of trying different drivers, I gave up. The "auto launch" feature of the CD did not work on Vista. It was relatively cheap so I didn't bother contacting the vendor. This cable does not work for my setup (new Windows Vista) with an old Epson printer. There was no instruction on what to install.
Unless your computer is located directly next to your printer, you will NEED a USB extension cord. I am running on vista and lost the old installation software for my printer, and it still ran perfectly. Note first that the parallel end goes directly onto your printer. I was fortunate to have an extra USB extension cord lying around.Otherwise, this device worked perfectly. I am not guaranteeing that for all operating systems. You do not connect this onto the end of an existing cord. I made that mistake first.The seller makes no mention of how short the cord length really is.
